For 2010 USHA events, each Saturday and each Sunday event will be
a 'qualifying event.' Members with the lowest scores based on the
point system (placing, event entry qualifier weight as outlined on
the USHA website) of 5 events will be named to the United States Helice
Team.
The events will be listed on the USHA website.
The United States Helice team will consist of 5 men, 5 women, 1 junior
boy, 1 junior girl. The amount of funding and entitlements to be provided
by USHA shall be based on Association available funds and at the sole
discretion of the USHA Directors. The team will represent the United
States in the Match of Nations event at the World Helice Championships.

Premise: Establishes a “selection
process” format and series that enables shooters equal opportunity to
qualify for one of the established berths on the USHA annually sponsored
UNITED STATES HELICE TEAM. The number of berths shall be established by USHA
annually prior to the first “selection match” of the announced shooting
year.
US Helice Team: The USHA sponsored US
Helice Team shall consist of the following twelve (12) berths:

Entitlements: All twelve (12) US Helice
Team members shall be awarded the following USHA sponsored entitlements:

Recognition as a member of the US HELICE TEAM

Receipt of a personalized US HELICE TEAM blazer jacket

Receipt of a personalized US HELICE TEAM shooting vest
Additionally, USHA shall provide funding to assist with
travel expenses for the top three (3) ranked Men and Women who elect to
compete for the UNITED STATES at the FITASC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP annual event.
The amount of funding to be provided by USHA shall be based on Association
available funds and at the sole discretion of the USHA Directors.
The actual shooting year end date is based on the
FITASC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP event schedule.
The first qualifying event for the 2010 team is the June 2009 event in
Stockton, CA.
: USHA does reserve the right to add/delete events as
deemed appropriate.
Shooters must be a member in good standing of USHA and
must compete in a minimum of five (5) “selection matches” to compete for
berths on the US HELICE TEAM. “Qualifying points” shall be earned based on
the shooter’s event scores and thus finishing position relative to other
competing participants at each of the “qualifying matches” ( ie: 1 point
for first position, 2 points for second position, 3 points for third, etc.
). Shooters who tie for a finishing position at a “selection match” shall
each receive their respective earned “qualifying points”. Additionally,
there shall be an “Event Weight Factor” which shall be added to all “Qualifying
Points” based on the following schedule:
Twenty or less participants:
Add 0.50 points
Twenty one to thirty
participants: Add 0.45 points
Thirty one to forty participants:
Add 0.40 points
Forty one to fifty participants:
Add 0.35 points
Fifty one to sixty participants:
Add 0.30 points
Sixty one to seventy participants:
Add 0.25 points
Seventy one to eighty participants:
Add 0.20 points
Eighty one to ninety participants:
Add 0.15 points
Ninety one to hundred
participants: Add 0.10 points
Over one hundred participants:
Add 0.05 points
A “participant” shall mean those individuals only who
are eligible and elect to compete in the “Selection Match”.
At the end of the yearly selection period, the shooters
with the lowest five (5) event aggregate “qualifying points plus applicable
event weight factors” shall be offered established berths on the US HELICE
TEAM for that calendar year. If any of the shooters decline subject berth,
the next shooter “in line” shall be offered a berth until the pre-determined
number of team members is established.
Records: Hosting clubs shall be
responsible to forward timely and accurate records to the USHA for
“qualifying match” results. USHA shall be responsible to record and publish
“standings” on the USHA web site in order for competitors to be able to
determine relative ranking and position.
Programs: In order for the “qualifying
match” to be sanctioned by USHA, the event must be conducted per established
USHA rules and regulations and receive USHA approval prior to event
advertising/publication. This includes shooting from a common distance,
common ring size and common target speed/setting (allowing for weather
conditions). USHA referees must preside. All USHA decisions regarding event
eligibility shall be final.
USHA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY/REVISE THIS
SELECTION PROCESS FOR JUST CAUSE AS DEEMED APPROPIATE BY USHA.
